It is a sad twist of irony that those who claim to be most focused on the Holy Spirit are in actuality the ones doing the most to abuse, grieve, insult, misrepresent, quench, and dishonor Him. But Paul uses the term ‘the Spirit’ to refer to a person who has received the Holy Spirit. Now there is ‘but’. When we receive ‘the Spirit’ ‘the flesh’ is not totally gone. It will still lure us to do its will. So Paul says in Galatians 5:16: ‘So I say, walk by the Spirit, and yo
